TMEIC has a long, successful history in coordinated drive systems for the paper industry. We have an innovative design and testing process, coupled with world-class technology. Innovations in our project engineering include:

  • Proposal specifications authored by technical leaders in the paper industry (average experience of 20 plus years).

  • Functional specifications that include regulator one-line diagrams and operator station design.

  • State-of-the-art factory system test with drive simulators, each incorporating a full motor model (also included in each as-shipped TMEIC drive). This allows complete testing of:
    • Interface between the controller and drives
    • Operator interface design
    • Regulator sequencing
    • System networks

Our commissioning team is made up of a combination of factory project engineers and service engineers. At the completion of testing and commissioning, the service engineers are intimately familiar with the system, providing invaluable local technical experts for system maintenance and on-site assistance and training.

TMEIC Paper Mill Engineer's School held in Melbourne, Australia

A three day Paper Mill Drives Course was sponsored by Appita and held at the Visy Paper facility in Coolaroo, Victoria. Dates of the course were 19 – 21 October 2010. Fifteen participants from several paper mills and multiple locations attended. The course is intended to teach technical details about the coordinated drive systems on paper machines and winders from the ac feeders all the way to the motors including trouble-shooting, installation and power calculations. Instructors were from TMEIC and Toshiba Intl.
