TM GE Automation Systems has made significant investment in cold mill technology, specifically addressing the movement towards compact mill configurations focused on meeting regional market requirements.

Specifically, we supplied drives and controls for the first North American two-stand reversing compact cold mill. The mill is capable of delivering gauge reduction and performance formerly requiring a conventional five-stand batch mill, while significantly reducing cost and space. The modeling technology provided for these types of mills requires mill setup to be sequenced with pass and stand utilization while minimizing head and tail thickness variation.

We also provide automation for integrated cold mill and pickle line configurations for both conventional cold rolled product as well as tin plate product.
