TMEIC GE contract to upgrade reversing cold mill
|
ROANOKE, Va. (Apr 23, 2009)—TMEIC GE recently received a contract to upgrade the automation on the two-stand reversing cold mill at CSN in Terre Haute, Ind.
The TMACS (TM Advanced Control Solutions) automation system will be employed. The Level 1 platform will include the new nv series controller with superior processing power for the metals industry, supporting high-speed connectivity to existing I/O and drives.
New shape rolls and spray headers, together with new Cold Mill Models, will be instrumental in providing higher quality and improved performance on the mill. A new main operator’s desk along with new HMI will bring the mill pulpit up to current standards.
Online Data Gathering and Trending (ODG) will aid in commissioning and provide future maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities.
